<image:title>Exhibitions - SPEEDWAY 1972 - HENRY HORENSTEIN</image:title>
<image:caption>November 20,2022 Corsicana, Texas While at grad school in the early 1970’s Henry Horenstein would attend Speedway races, in New England to see his brother in law compete. In front of his camera the drivers would fly around the track in beat-up cars customised for racing at break neck speeds in the hopes of small town glory. Horenstein's joyful images present us with a slice now of what the world of motor racing looked like then, before racing became big business, as it slowly morphed into Nascar - the worlds fastest growing sport. <image:title>Exhibitions - AN EYE FOR ELEGANCE. CARRIE MARCUS NEIMAN and the Women Who Shaped Neiman Marcus</image:title>
<image:caption>December 3, 2021 - January 28, 2022 DeGolyer Library - Southern Methodist University An Eye for Elegance explores the life and legacy of Carrie Marcus Neiman, a child of German Jewish immigrants who, along with her brother Herbert and her husband A.L. Neiman, co-founded the iconic luxury speciality store Neiman Marcus in 1907. Carrie’s magical ability to predict fashion trends and her unparalleled sense of style, along with her commitment to customer service helped set a standard for retail excellence that is unsurpassed. The exhibition traces Carrie’s life from the founding of “The Store” when she was a young woman, through the Texas boom years of the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s, to her election as Chairman of the Board in 1951, to her unexpected death in 1953. Carrie Marcus Neiman’s life is illustrated through photographs, historical documents, personal correspondence, exquisite gowns, and other artifacts that tell the story of a woman who was ahead of her time and often overlooked. This exhibition is made possible in part by Neiman Marcus and by the Eugene McDermott Foundation. Special thanks to Texas Fashion Collection and J&J Printing.</image:caption>

<image:title>Exhibitions - "Age of the Supermodel", the photographs of Donna DeMari</image:title>
<image:caption>In 1991, celebrated photographer Donna DeMari was commissioned by British Vogue and its legendary editor Liz Tilberis to photograph the Fall / Winter Haute Couture Season from a unique vantage point… backstage. At that point time very few people had ever been granted access to the inner sanctum of models, designers, and the secrets behind Haute Couture. Aremd with a Nikon F2, a few rolls of film per show, and shooting only with available light, DeMari began to document the unguarded moments of the world’s most beautiful women in the most exquisite designs of Balmain, Chanel, Scherrer, Laroche, Valentino, Givenchy, and Lanvin. These previously unpublished photographs of Linda Evangelista, Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Gisele Zelauy, Claudia Mason, Yasmeen Ghuri, Christy Turlington, Heather Stewart-Whyte, Susie Bick, Tatjana Patitz, Kristen McMenamy, Nadja Auermann, and Karen Mulder among others, offer a rare glimpse into the world of Haute Couture during the Age of the Supermodel. This exhibition recorded over 20,000 visitors in its six week run. Age of the Supermodel</image:caption>

<image:title>Exhibitions - Refuge - Photographs by Fredrik Brodén & Matt George</image:title>
<image:caption>A human who has been forced to flee their country due to persecution, conflict, or violence is defined a refugee. The U.S. has traditionally welcomed displaced people from these regions, allowing them to begin new lives in a new homeland. On January 27th, 2017 an executive order reduced the maximum number of resettled refugees by almost 50%, leaving tens of thousands inside deadly conflict zones around the world. These are the faces of those who have taken the incalculable risk of uprooting everything they have ever known in search of peace, freedom, and a better life. <image:caption>Geof Kern brings his distinct point of view to the legendary Neiman Marcus 'Art of Fashion' campaign. Creating in the surrealistic tradition that has always embraced fashion, Kern utilizes strong contrasts in scale and unexpected elements. To wit, botanicals and spray painted junk cars, like pieces of sculpture, provide a backdrop to designs by artists such as Saint Laurent, Gucci, and Proenza Schouler. Art juxtaposed with art. <image:title>Events - SPEEDWAY 1972 - HENRY HORENSTEIN</image:title>
<image:caption>November 20, 2022 Corsicana, Texas Pop Up Exhibition - Artist Talk - Book Signing While at grad school in the early 1970’s Henry Horenstein would attend Speedway races, in New England to see his brother in law compete. In front of his camera the drivers would fly around the track in beat-up cars customised for racing at break neck speeds in the hopes of small town glory. Hornstein’s joyful images present us with a slice now of what the world of motor racing looked like then, before racing became big business, as it slowly morphed into Nascar - the worlds fastest growing sport.
